Shopping cart gift certificates

Gift certificates can be easily bought through the storefront. The only thing different from usual purchase is that before proceeding to checkout it is necessary to fill in the template with information about the recipient and specify the gift certificate amount. The other steps are standard.

The whole process is carried out automatically and under your total control. Once a gift certificate is bought, the complete information is immediately displayed in the CS-Cart administration panel. And if the gift certificate is of an e-mail type, the system sends it to the recipient once it is created.

Redemption is also fully automated. If the full amount is spent, the certificate changes its status and can't be used again. There are no restrictions that may be considered inconvenient by your customers. It is not necessary to use up the full amount at a time, customers can return and spend the balance. If the certificate amount is not enough to pay for the order, the rest amount can be paid using other payment methods.

One more thing that contributes to the system is that gift certificates do not have expiry dates. Providing gift certificates is one of the most lucrative opportunities for the store. Return management

CS-Cart RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) add-on automates, simplifies and helps to organize the process in the best way possible. The process is the following: if customers get faulty products, they have the ability to request for return. But such a request can be made only if certain conditions are met – the product is returnable and its return period is not over. That is set up in the CS-Cart admin panel.

Highly configurable system allows to make products returnable on a per-product basis and set individual return period for each of them. When return request is made, it is automatically displayed in the system and the administrator sees what products customers want to return, for what reasons and what actions they want to be applied (for instance, refund or replacement). Moreover, customers are kept informed as they receive e-mail notifications about the return authorization.

Also there is the ability to issue a credit for future purchases in case the required action cannot be performed. For example, the product that should be replaced is out of stock. Such credits are given as gift certificates. Gift certificate amount is generated automatically in this case and equal to the product price.

Import/export

As many merchants use third party software, for example, accounting software like Quickbooks, to manage their products, it is necessary to have the ability to import/export various data. CS-Cart constantly evolves in this direction and extends its import/export facilities. Files can be imported to or exported from CS-Cart in CSV format.

The program enables you to transfer a great deal of data: from language variables to product images. You can select the fields that a CSV file will contain, depending on the information to be imported/exported. For more convenience and flexibility, CS-Cart offers a wide array of settings. You can choose a CSV delimiter and the language in which the data will be transferred.

Gift Registry

The Gift Registry add-on is one more tool to promote online gift buying. Offering such a feature, you help both those who experience difficulties in choosing presents and those who prefer to receive only desired presents. CS-Cart Gift Registry service provides all the tools needed for your customer to set up a registry and share it with guests.

Customers register their events, create lists of “invitees”, specify the period of the event. Then they create lists of the desired products and send notifications to the invitees. There are two links in these notifications, following which invitees can view all the desired products or unsubscribe. Registry owners can specify not only the products they want to receive as presents, but also the number of each product.

When some item from the list is purchased, the system automatically blocks this item to prevent other invitees from buying it again. So looking through the product list, invitees see which products have already been bought. A wide array of options allows to meet the requirements of the most exacting customers. Registry owners have the ability to make the event public, i.e. available for all the visitors of the store, or private, available only to certain people.
