CS-Cart is an online shopping cart software program created by internet marketer Vladimir Kalynyak. This software program provides solutions for large and small businesses, giving them the e-commerce features and the tools that they need to streamline the selling process and keep track of their different product and service accounts.

Detailed Overview

When you are selling products or services online through your own e-commerce website, you need some type of service or software that can help you to automate the process, and that is where the CS-Cart software program comes in. Of course, you can use Payment services such as Paypal for this task, but services like these focus mostly on the payment part of the buying process, and often you need more than that.

The CS-Cart software program can integrate with most of the major online and offline payment systems, including Paypal, Google Checkout, FedEx, and major credit cards. It provides a checkout feature, which is important when you’re selling multiple products or services through one main website. As products are sold through your sales websites, the software program keeps track of inventory so that you can tell at a glance how much has been sold and how much you may need to restock. Through the program you can devise different promotions for your products and offer online coupons that can be redeemed at checkout, and you can even offer gift certificates.

Every good business needs a return policy for its products. With the CS-Cart software program, you can set up your return policy and make it easy for customers to return products or get refunds on services without having to contact you directly. Through the program you can set the various shipping costs for different carriers, or you can customize your own shipping costs.

Reputation

CS-Cart has built an impressive reputation among its business customers. Reports are that it provides all of the features that are needed to sell products or services on a large or small scale. The price for the software program if you buy directly from their site is $265, which is reasonable for what you get. You can often find it for a lower price from a certified reseller, however. Whether you buy directly from the company or through a certified reseller, you will have access to upgrades and product support for life.

The Whois information for a website lists the owner and their contact information. The Whois information for "Cs-Cart" is public which is generally a good thing. This indicates the owner of this site has nothing to hide..

CS-Cart Impressions

I have toyed around with various carts the past year and eventually decided to wait on CubeCart 5 to be released (it seems to be in perpetual beta). There is a small but loyal following to CC and the price is right. The software is solid and the developer community is strong.

I am now serious about standing up a store and AM SICK of waiting on CC5. After some more research I decided to give OScommerce and CScart a try. OSCommerce was a mess and I gave up on it quickly. CS-cart, on the other hand, has been impressive in my very short time with the product. The community here has been earger to help. There are obvious things I would change but developement seems to be steady so I hope to see some of those features soon.

So far, all signs point to CS-Cart. This is due to the realtively low entry cost and forum involvement.

Finally something even I can customize!

I have been selling custom-made products online for 3 years now. We made the decision to switch carts so now we are improving and upgrading the site. I had many features I wanted, but not a lot of money to spend. My hubby is a programmer by profession, so he wanted the source code. We tried one cart and found the “addons” weren’t what I really wanted and felt that I was being addon’d to death. We came across CS-Cart. Wow for the price the features are awesome. Customizing the site has not been painful. Even the input of products was pretty easy. I can’t say it’ll be done overnight, but I’m very happy with the way the site is coming together. Biggest pro - didn’t need addons. Biggest con – product is out of Russia – customer support is on their time and not 24/7. But we haven’t needed to ask them anything, yet. I give this program a big thumbs up!

CS-Cart is also very user friendly for the customer. It contains its own Content Management System which allows the customer to add additional pages that aren’t product specific (for example, Terms and Conditions, Returns Information, Privacy Policy). The user does not have to understand any PHP to do this, CS-Cart provides an editor built into the Administration Screens.

For a long time, the shopping cart industry has been dominated by carts that have been around for years. Zen Cart, osCommerce, X-Cart and the like have had huge market share since the early days of e-commerce. While CS-Cart lacks the popularity of these old solutions, it had the luxury of learning from their mistakes. With a more mature second version now available, it’s a serious contender for anyone in the market for a cheap, flexible shopping cart.

I would like to tell everyone thank you for the wonderful support so far, and I have never been so happier with the ecommerce software. This is the best one I've ever come across with. Easy to use, great support, and affordable. I'm going to be getting 5 more licenses in the next month or two for sure. What makes this software so great is the different templates for the front end, and the wonderful and easy to manage back-end, let alone the amazing support, and help forums. This cart is worth every penny. I have used other carts and have tried other "ecommerce" sites but NONE come even close to CS-CART. It is very easy to modify and putting in your products is a piece of cake. You can be up and running in no time. The help desk it wonderful. And the people in the forums are great too.
